Millions of pets are in shelters and in foster home awaiting adoption. With this mobile app one can create profile for pets in order to put them up for adoption. This will help connect people looking for pet companion considering factors like breed, gender, age and temperament.

November 2018- March 2019
iOS, Android

I started my internet research and checked many adoption websites. Discussed with my friends who already have a pet. Got insights from a pet owner in a park nearby place where I go for a jog every day. I also checked mobile apps on pet adoption.

I got clear that people want to adopt animals preferably searching for pets online first to get a wide variety and find information of each. These users also look for quick and convenient ways to make appointments with an online shelter so they can visit the pet they like. One also wants to get in touch with another pet owner with a similar breed to know the behavior or temperament nature of the breed.

There is a cafe in Whitefield, Bangalore called TherPup, basically, it’s a dog cafe with the USP that you can take your pets along when you visit here and mostly they have the menu for your pet as well. Here people come to hang out with other pet owners and play with dogs even though you don’t own one.

To understand the other competitors, I did some analysis to get their priority features, advantages and drawbacks. I found out most of the apps are not providing proper solution with poor design and less information.

These 2 different personas both want to look for the best pet that matches their lifestyle, yet they have different goals and also encounter different frustrations in their search.

Incomplete information about the pet is difficult to decide to pick the right dog.
Pepper also need time to interact with the new adopted dog, which the shelter should allow.

In addition to the above, I created a simple chart diagram to demonstrate the task flow. I also needed this to help me pinpoint the key screens that I need to design.

You can browse any pet you like with different categories.

The most important part of the app. It wasn’t easy because the pet profile is a very feature rich part of the app. One can check out different pictures and behaviour of the pet and can contact the shelter home to adopt or chat with the chelter home.
